INTRODUCING AUTHOR TOMMY HAYS

One of the most anticipated events during Alamance Reads is the first time the author, Tommy Hays, comes to meet our community, to talk about the selected book, The Pleasure Was Mine, and about other books he has written, to answer your many questions, and to sign book copies.

Tuesday evening, January 18, 2011, Tommy Hays won the hearts of Alamance County readers of all ages, gender, and walks of life. Introduced to the audience by Alamance Reads co-chair, Carlene Morton, Hays charmed the audience talking about his characters, his other writings, reading from The Pleasure Was Mine, and then sitting for an hour signing books. While Tommy was busy working, the 200+ attendees were enjoying foods from the theme-appropriate reception table. Caterer Marg Cobb did a fantastic job of portraying themes from the book in both her table settings and her menu.

This was certainly one of the best-attended and successful opening nights in the history of Alamance Reads.
